Community College Strong Workforce Program Overivew

Through the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO), regional share funding is allocated to the Inland Empire/Desert Regional Consortium to support joint projects aimed at promoting collaboration among community colleges, employers, and/or other educational sectors.

Strong Workforce Program investments support the development and improvement of career education programs that align with industry standards, meet the demands of the job market, and support student educational and employment goals.

Strengthening Workforce Education Across the
Inland Empire/Desert Region

The Inland Empire/Desert Regional Consortium is tasked with expanding and enhancing regional workforce training models that focus on equity, access, and inclusion for students while encouraging sustained and meaningful participation by employers, with the ultimate goal of delivering a coordinated and impactful regional approach to workforce education and training in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, which comprises the Inland Empire/Desert Region, also known as Region 9.

The consortium’s projects and services support the work of community colleges and K12 partners (including county offices of education, K-12 local education agencies, and public charter schools) as well as adult education providers, regional occupational centers (ROPs), local workforce development boards, economic development organizations, regional nonprofit workforce and business entities, community-based organizations, and others.
