Overview

The mission of the Proposition 39 Clean Energy Workforce Development Program is to contribute to the State’s job growth and economic vitality through regional training programs that result in the measurable and successful transition of CTE students from community colleges to careers in the Energy, Construction, and Utilities sector.

The Inland Empire/Desert and San Diego/Imperial Region was awarded a joint non-competitive grant application in response to the Prop 39 RFA. This $1,582,110 grant will support both regions and includes $1,027,560 in program improvement funding to be allocated to partnering colleges in February 2018. Program Improvement funding must be fully expended by each participating college by December 31, 2018 and can be spent on energy program related supplies, equipment, faculty professional development activities, and/or curriculum or program development including new programs. The administrative home for the Inland Empire/Desert and San Diego/Imperial regions will be Cuyamaca College. Cuyamaca College and College of the Desert will co-lead the project.

Funding Period: October 1, 2017 – February 28, 2019

Grant Total for Inland Empire/Desert and San Diego/Imperial regions: $1,582,110

Allocations: $554,550 for leadership and administrative.
$1,027,560 to be distributed during first year to participating colleges for related Program Improvement through formula funding.
